since the new Details-view List control now allows you to select any individual column, choosing Edit Property from the Type column's context menu should let us quickly change the hidden extension of any file right there, instead of having to go into the Folder Options first :)
Maybe the Type Column could even have an option for quickly Associating a file type with any application, without having to Open the file first.
